Thanks to you guys who responded so positively to the preach last Sunday. There was much banter over the chart [below] I compiled based on the above verse. In this psalm Moses reminds us that our days are few: "The length of our days is seventy years - or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away" v10
Taking 70 years a a guide, our days are numbered thus:
Years Days alloted Days left to live
70 yrs = 25,550
20 = 7,300 18,250
25 = 9,125 16,425
35 = 12,775 12,775
40 = 14,600 10,950
50 = 18,250 7,300
60 = 21,900 3,650
65 = 23,750 1,825
69 = 25,185 365
As I read this, at the grand age of 60, I realise I'm running out of days!!
Knowing this helps me to view each day as a gift from God and guards me from wasting time.
It encourages me to gain a heart of wisdom, continue to daily walk with Jesus and invest in people for His glory.
